In steam power stations and other thermal plants, processes often require the steam temperature to be reduced so that the most economical steam temperature is achieved or connected plant sections are protected against overheating.  

Type 3994-0001 Desuperheater

The desuperheater is used to cool superheated steam down to saturated steam temperature. To do so, processes heated by saturated steam often require small amounts of steam, with the load fluctuating between 0 % and 100 %. This is where the desuperheater can be used optimally since it ensures perfect cooling across the entire load range.
